The Armory - Culpeper's Premier Banquet facility When world-class chef, Peter Stogbuchner and horticulturist Karen Stogbuchner moved to Culpeper to open the Hazel River Inn bed and breakfast they recognized the need for a gathering facility in downtown Culpeper. When they opened the Hazel River Inn restaurant on Davis Street, it was natural for them to expand into the historic building next door, to bring you the finest facility in Culpeper for weddings, parties, or any other gathering you could possibly think of. Chef Peter Stogbuchner can create many options for your reception, no matter what the occasion. We have listed a few menu suggestions that would fit many different budgets and circumstances.Reception with light to heavy hors d'oeurves or seated buffet for over 175 persons in the heart of downtown Culpeper. All dishes prepared by Chef Peter Stogbuchner and Chef Randy Cooper. All Meals can be served buffet or plated there is 3% service charge for plated dinners The building at 179 East Davis Street is rich in Culpeper history. The upstairs was used as the armory for the Culpeper Minute Men and continued to be used as the armory into the early 1900's, while the main floor housed Yowells Hardware.When the telegraph came to town it also became the home of the telegraph office.
